Země živitelka 2026: Scientists Use DNA to Uncover Illegal Wildlife Trade

How can the origin of meat be identified when it is no longer possible to tell from its appearance which animal it came from? Molecular genetics provides the answer, and visitors to the CZU stand at Země živitelka 2026 will have an opportunity to learn more about it.

A complete feed mix for breeding rabbits—developed in collaboration with experts from the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources CZU and the Research Institute of Animal Production, public research institution—won the prestigious Golden Ear award at this year’s 52nd annual Země živitelka international agricultural fair. A CZU student also achieved success at the exhibition, winning an award for her pickled zucchini.

On the opening day of the international Země živitelka agricultural fair, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is presenting a topic that has long been central to its work.
