Academic Qualifications

Professorship procedure

In the professorship procedure, the academic and scientific achievements of the applicant are evaluated. The applicant should be a significant and recognized scientist in his/her field. A prerequisite for initiating the professorship is a prior appointment by an Associate Professor, on the basis of the habilitation procedure. Professorship appointment proceedings are performed in accordance with the "Rules for habilitation proceedings and professorship appointment proceedings applicable to proceedings initiated after 1 October 2013" and internal rules of the Faculty.

Habilitation procedure

Habilitation is a post-doctoral qualification in which the candidate receives a degree of the Associate Professor. It is conferred for a habilitation thesis based on his/her original papers, which are assessed by independent reviewers and defended before an academic board to confirm an academic and scientific qualification. It is formally required to independently teach, supervise Ph.D. students, and to guarantee the study programmes. Habilitation procedures are performed in accordance with the “Rules for habilitation procedures and professorships appointment proceedings applicable to proceedings initiated after 1st October 2013”. Habilitation is a condition for further professorship.
