The activity is focused on the identification of the origin and sources, chemical forms, links, and accessibility of mobility of chemical elements in the soil.
The examination is focused on how to potentially toxic elements (As, Cd, Pb, Al, Tl, etc.), as well as significant essential (Se, Mo, Zn, Cu, Cr, P, S, Ca, Mg, etc.), and their mutual interaction (antagonistic-synergistic interaction). In this context will be analyzed mobile and bioavailable shares these elements, the oxidation States of the elements, isotopic composition, organic and inorganic compounds and their effect on the behaviour of contaminants in the soil.
Analytical methods of extraction methods that simulate for example, precipitation, soil solution composition and due to possible direct interaction of soil animals or humans with contaminated land management methods will be used to simulate the processes in the gastrointestinal tract or in the respiratory tract. For the determination of elements and their compounds are used by separation and spectrometric methods. For selected elements is explored their origins and other behavior in the food chain by using isotope analysis using ICP-MS instrumentation.
