1. Where can I go?
FAFNR cooperates with more than 100 foreign universities based on bilateral agreements. Detailed information about individual universities are available in the document List of Erasmus+ Partner Universities.
Partner universities within the Erasmus+ program can also be found on this map marked with our faculty color:
2. Selection procedure
Selection procedures for long-term study stays under the Erasmus+ programme take place twice a year.
- For a study stay in the winter semester of the following academic year, it is necessary to submit an application for the selection procedure, which usually takes place from December to February of the previous academic year.
- For a study stay in the summer semester, it is necessary to submit an application for the selection process, which usually takes place from August to mid-September of the same academic year.
Information about specific application deadlines is always published in the news section of our website or on the student intranet.
You submit your application via UIS - My College -> Student’s portal -> Submitting an Application for an Exchange Program.
Fill in your personal details on the application form, indicate your chosen foreign university (and at least 1-2 alternatives), and upload the following:
- CV in English
- Motivation letter in English (or in the language of study abroad)
- Proposed study program at the foreign university (not mandatory, but recommended)
After submitting your application, you will be invited by email to a personal or online interview. The purpose of the interview is to assess your language level and motivation to study abroad.
3. Before Mobility
After a successful selection process and nomination to your chosen partner university, you will receive information about the next steps from the faculty coordinator and the coordinator from the central IRO. More information about the steps involving the central IRO can be found here .
What are the steps at the faculty?
- Recognition of courses in the Contact centre
In the contact center (UIS), you can download an Excel spreadsheet from the request for recognition of courses before or after ERASMUS.
Complete the table (see example below) and upload it back to the application. Courses from a foreign university can be recognized either as equivalent to a course in your study plan (the syllabus must be at least 50% identical, as assessed by the vice-dean) or as an elective course. The syllabus for each course can be uploaded as a link in the table or in PDF format as an attachment to the application.
The vice-dean has 30 days to approve the request. We recommend that you send the request as soon as possible – this will make the whole process easier, as you will have everything approved on time. We recommend that you enroll in courses worth 20-30 ECTS credits, with a minimum of 15 ECTS credits, in order for your Erasmus mobility to be recognized.
- Online Learning Agreement (OLA)/Learning agreement (LA)
Online Learning Agreement (in some cases, only the LA filled out in Word) is filled out and electronically signed by the student, as well as by the faculty coordinator (see below) and the receiving institution. Notifications are automatically sent to the email addresses you have provided. Current instructions for filling out the document can be found in the email from the central IRO.
If you want to make changes to your OLA/LA after arriving at the receiving university, follow the instructions . If you want to add a new course that has not yet been approved by the vice-dean in the contact center via the "Request for recognition of courses before or after ERASMUS", you will need to upload the Excel table for approval again, this time only with the new course.
Please report any changes to your study plan (OLA) to me. !!! Important !!! Please report any changes to your study plan as soon as possible at the beginning of your stay. Changes reported later may not be accepted.
- Individual study plan (ISP)
ISP excuses your absence in class for the period you will be on Erasmus. You can arrange this with your study coordinator via a request in the contact center. If you need any clarification regarding the ISP or are unsure about anything, please contact your study coordinator.
Once the ISP has been approved, your mobility will be entered into the UIS, and at this stage you can sign the Grant agreement for participants at the central IRO office.
We would like to draw your attention to the possibility of extra financial support for participants with limited opportunities: https://www.czu.cz/en/r-9190-international-relations/r-19522-outgoing-erasmus-and-exchange/r-19539-inclusion-within-the-erasmus-programme
Please, if you have to cancel your trip for any reason, let the faculty coordinator know as soon as possible.
4. After mobility
After returning, there are still a few steps to take before the study stay is finally concluded.
- The student shall arrange for the foreign university to send the final Transcript of Records to erasmus@af.czu.cz and outgoing@czu.cz. Transcripts forwarded by the student cannot be accepted.
- You need to fill in the course recognition table (we will send it to you by email after your return). Once checked, we will send it to your study coordinator, who will recognize the pre-approved courses or enter the credits into the UIS.
