Information for applicants for doctoral study programme FAFNR on the CULS
Doctoral study program (hereinafter DSP) is designed for graduates of universities who graduated by a state examination Master's degree program in the field DSP follows or in related field. The basic objective of DSP is to obtain and demonstrate the ability of independent scientific work in the field of science through the defence of the doctoral dissertation, publications and other forms of presentation own scientific-research activities, including passing all the tests and the state doctoral examination.
Graduates DSP will obtain academic title "Doctor" (abbreviated to "Ph.D." behind the name).
Full-time DSP is the only form of doctoral studies for foreign students. The duration of this form of study is four years. Students of full-time DSP have the status of university students (discount on fares, accommodation on campus, eating in the canteen for student rates etc.).
Fields of DSP study
The applicant chooses field of DSP study (Doctoral Study programmes) and the topic of his doctoral thesis. For more information, please see: Doctoral Study Programmes
Before the application for studies, the candidates are kindly asked to contact potential supervisor and discuss availability of the topic and other details.
The entrance examination to the Doctoral study programmes takes place before the commission composed of leading experts in the relevant scientific field. The examination is oral and it is focused at the issues related to the field of application, evaluating abilities of independent scientific and research work. Admission process can be replaced by written recommendation from two professors.
The entrance examination will be held on June 18, 2019.
The candidate will obtain invitation to the admission procedure for at least 14 days before the exam date.
Information for submission and payment of the application
Applications should be submitted via the web application at: e-application.
The deadline for applications is on May 31, 2019. The fee is 20,- EUR. This fee is not required for students coming within inter-university or inter-faculty contracts.
The fee is non-refundable at any stage of the admission procedure.

Documents to be submitted before the entrance examination
The following documents must be submitted to the Centre of Science and Research, namely to Ing. Kateřina Makovcová, Ph.D., e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org:
- certified copy of a diploma (Ing., Mgr., etc., students who finish studies in a given year, submit a copy of the diploma after graduation
- review of published and unpublished works
- or other documents, e.g. the proof of the state language exam, minimum B2 level.
PhD studies in Czech language are free of charge. Studies in English are subject of the fee 500 € per academic year. The Faculty does not dispose of funds to provide fellowships for international students studying in English. A possibility of partial funding must be agreed with potential supervisor in the framework of his/her project or the candidates must ensure own resources, covering basic living expenses (minimum 600 € monthly).
