Employees of CZU Took to Sports Again, Winners’ Trophy Heads to the Faculty of Economics and Management

At the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, the traditional gateway to summer is the Employees’ Sports Games. This year’s edition marked the icy weather brought by Saint Boniface, but the enthusiastic athletes were undeterred. Especially not those who, at the end of the day, claimed the championship trophy of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague for an entire year and celebrated to the famous anthem of champions by Queen. This time, fortune smiled on the team from the Faculty of Economics and Management, which defeated the Rectorate athletes by a single point. Third place went to the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources. For everyone involved, Thursday, 14 May, provided a welcome break from the daily work routine and a day full of sporting competition.

Miss Agro 2026: A Celebration of Beauty, Strength, and Music in the Spirit of Sustainability

One of the largest student open-air festivals in the Czech Republic, Miss Agro, is just around the corner. In addition to its traditional combination of great music, female beauty, and masculine strength, this year the CZU campus in Suchdol will take a significant step towards sustainability. The main organizer is the university newspaper iZUN.eu, which is preparing the event in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, all its faculties, and other university units. This year, together, they are introducing a system of returnable deposit cups, which will eliminate single-use plastics at all sales points.

The four best university basketball teams from across the country – the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Masaryk University, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University, and the University of Ostrava –  battled for gold in the North Moravian metropolis.

The growing popularity of the CZU Athlete of the Year poll, which the university announces every year, is also reflected in the incredible number of 55 registered athletes. All of them can boast outstanding performances, so once again the jury did not have an easy decision to make. Given his performances last year and the honour he received from the President of the Czech Republic, sprint canoeist Josef Dostál was the clear favourite. He thus repeated last year’s triumph.
