What happens when 23 of the most gifted high school students from across the country, top scientists, and a program packed with experiments come together in one place? You get a week that changes their perspective on science. 

The men’s team of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague repeated last year’s success in the university eights race at the Prague Mayor’s Eights Regatta. Although they did not reach the top spot, they delivered an excellent performance, won a well-deserved second place. This year, the Charles University crews became the kings of the university eights. Rector Michal Lošťák and the Head of the Department of Physical Education, Dušan Vavrla, were also there to support our team.

Every year in mid-June, the CZU campus becomes a place where alumni of several generations recall their student years during ceremonial graduation events. In the afternoon, everyone with a connection to the university comes together to enjoy the Garden Party. This event is a symbolic gateway to summer. This year, it will take place on Saturday, 13 June.

The university campus in Prague-Suchdol has become a hub of environmental innovation. In 2025, CZU confirmed its role as a national leader when it defended first place in the Czech Republic in the prestigious international UI GreenMetric ranking, ranking 68th worldwide among more than 1,700 assessed institutions. In the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, CZU also defended its leading position in the Environmental Impact category among 15 participating universities in the Czech Republic.

Research.com, a leading academic platform for scientists and researchers, has just published the 2026 edition of its ranking of top scientists in the field of environmental sciences.
